Position Overview: A Personal Support / Companion Caregiver works with clients who have physical and/or mental disabilities. This role involves providing professional and compassionate support both in clients' homes and within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Support clients in accessing community resources and participating in social activities.
- Monitor and document clients' progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment, adhering to best practices and organizational policies.

Prerequisite skills and qualifications for the duties of this job include:
- Strong organizational skills while being able to maintain high standards under pressure
- ability to adapt to change and remain flexible
- Accustomed to working with and understanding the needs of various types of patients/clients.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to work well as an independent collaborator and as a team
- Ability to comply with standards policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
- Ability to use computer programs to keep accurate documentation and records
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
Education and Training Requirements - (REQUIRED)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Level 2 background screening
- CPR certified
